Materialistically there isn’t much that an average teenager working a part time job can afford to buy this mothers day because prices are jacked up sky high and it’s likely to be a flower ritual this year. The flowers might not even be bought, but picked from their own garden because renowned florists are selling at a minimum of $30 and you still have to dish out on delivery charges, the Mother’s day card and the extra delivery charges since mothers day is on a Sunday.
The total for an ordinary and minimalistic mothers day gift adds up to ‘unaffordable’ in most cases and Googling mothers day gifts isn’t going to help because people will suggest Jewelry (for adults buying for their mothers) or crafts(for moms to do with their kids). It’s almost as if teenagers are standing in the dark spot. There are few suggestions and ideas that can actually help a teenager buy a nice mothers day gift so here’s a little help.
Replacing something you’ve broken
Any house that has teenagers, or kids for that matter, living in it has known the lose of a treasured keepsake and while these cherished relics can’t be replaced in spirit, teenagers can find a substitute that will create a new memory. For teenage boys who like to tinker around with mechanics and sorts, things might be a bit easier if what they’ve broken has anything to do with springs and wheels like a carriage clock. Things like broken china ware however can be restored if you still have the pieces lying around. There are free guides available online for this kind of repair work.
A day with mom
Mothers would love day that they can spend with their kids. As kids grow older, the one thought that haunts parents in general and mothers in particular is that their kids won’t need them anymore so it’s a good idea to give mom your time. You can go out to lunch with her and avoid using the phrase ‘you’re embarrassing me’ or you could take over making dinner and create a nice restaurant atmosphere in your home. Another thing your mom would really appreciate is if the whole family sat down to eat dinner and turned their cell phones off (You could really delight your mom by using your knife and fork properly).
Putting Sibling Rivalry on hold
Try putting your sibling rivalry aside for one day and giving your mother some peace and quiet. You can chip in with your brothers and/or sisters and get your mom a nice gift. This is practically a two in one gift for your mom. It’ll be from all her children and it won’t be flowers pilfered from the garden. Of course if you do decide to pool funds with your siblings don’t go down the road of cliché overpriced flowers. Get your mom something special, jewelry will still be out of your range but jewelry is over rated anyway. Try getting her wholesome gifts that she can enjoy with her whole family like a mothers day gift basket or a fruit bouquet. If you decide to make dinner, it can be a mothers day dessert surprise.
Always remember that you’re mom will love whatever you get her and its not so much about the mothers day gifts as it is about the sentiments you want to express.
